Ahhhh! Wonderful

We await with anticipation the snow that has been threatening to come for the last few days. The temperature has been slowly dropping and it was minus 3 degrees according to my car’s temperature gauge this morning only rising to minus 1 degree by the time we reached the local shops. It was so cold and still this morning, that walking around our local market place was like strolling around inside a huge refrigerator store.

I can’t make up my mind whether I am happy about the threat of snow or not? There is something incredibly beautiful about the sight of snow – I realise of course that it can be a real nuisance for people who have to get to work somehow (been there – done that), it can be frightening to people who cannot get out to get their food or a newspaper, it is worrying to the elderly or sick who need warmth to keep them safe, it can also be very distressing for those on a very tight budget, to have to pay even more money for the basic need to keep warm. Nevertheless, there is nothing more beautiful than waking up to a thick, smooth, silent, snow-scene. Ahhhh! Wonderful.
